The Civil Guard recovered four stolen lithium batteries and power converters worth five thousand Euros, as well as other items.
Two experienced criminals have been arrested as suspected perpetrators of 7 crimes of forceful robbery. They also recovered 4 lithium batteries that were stolen from the solar panels of various country homes.
The three searches of houses in Mula la Benemerita have yielded shears and mallets as well as Walkie Talkies, Headlamps, Balaclavas, a nautical engine, two compressed-air shotguns and many fossils.
Investigations began about a year before when the ROCA teams (Country Robbery Teams) became aware that a number of burglaries were being committed in homes isolated in Pliego and the surrounding municipalities. The main target was photovoltaic systems in these houses.
The investigation was launched immediately to identify and arrest the suspects. It focused on both surveillance of the locality and the examination of the pages of the second-hand object sales where they were suspected of selling.
Recovered: Four lithium batteries worth 5,000 Euros
Researchers found an advertisement where four batteries of lithium were being sold at half the price they would normally be. Their real value was 5,000 Euros, but in this publication, it appeared that the battery were only worth 2,000 euros. They were intercepted and recovered, before being sold.
In response to this discovery, two Mula residents with long criminal records were identified as the suspects. Entry and search warrants for their residences and a house guarded and occupied by dangerous dogs were obtained. This was done near one of the building where the suspected stolen items could have been stored.

In collaboration with Mula’s Local Police, the Civil Guard has recently established a large device for the search and entry of three properties.
In the houses, there were balaclavas; two compressed air guns, headlamps; walkie talkies, and a marine engine.
This intervention resulted in the arrest of two Spanish men aged between 31 and 39, who are suspected of committing at least seven burglaries.
Residents of Mula knew which roads to take, and how they could get there. They had chosen the houses because the photovoltaic systems, whose components, like lithium batteries or current converters are attractive on platforms that sell second hand products.
They did not shy away from stealing anything that was easily able to be sold outside of the normal circles. Two experienced criminals used Walkie Talkies and other non-conventional communication devices, including gloves, balaclavas, tools to cut padlocks or bars, shears to smash walls and tools to steal the most expensive photovoltaic systems.
This operation, still ongoing, culminated with seven counts of forceful robbery and the arrest of experienced criminals. The Mula Investigative court has been given the case files, as well as the evidence gathered.
